Health Doesn’t Have a Look
The Provincial Eating Disorders Awareness Week (PEDAW) campaign runs every year from February 1–7. Brought to you by EmbodyBC in collaboration with the National Eating Disorder Information Center (NEDIC), this province-wide effort raises awareness around eating disorders – including prevention, early intervention, and treatment – and explores media literacy, a healthier body image, self-compassion, resiliency, and more.
BC Proclamation for Eating Disorders Awareness Week
The Province of British Columbia declares February 1 – 7, 2026 as Eating Disorders Awareness Week.

Provincial Eating Disorders Awareness Week Resources
This year’s Provincial Eating Disorders Awareness Week (PEDAW) campaign invites us to move beyond narrow definitions of health and consider the social, cultural, and environmental factors that shape well-being. By sharing these posts using #PDAW2026, you help amplify the message, challenge harmful beliefs, and spark broader awareness and advocacy. Developed in partnership with the National Eating Disorder Information Centre (NEDIC), the campaign highlights resources available throughout PDAW 2026.

Social Media campaign: Conversation starters, Conversation stoppers
Social media is a powerful tool for change. This year’s PDAW campaign invites us to challenge the harmful message that thinness equals health and instead champion conversations that honour safety, dignity and diversity of all bodies.
Follow along as we:
- Highlight ways to interrupt unsafe conversations about food, bodies and movement
- Illustrate the importance of weight-inclusive care
By sharing these posts with your networks, you can help amplify the message, challenge harmful beliefs, and spark broader awareness and advocacy.

New Resource: Navigating food-centred events with care and compassion
Food brings people together – but for those navigating eating disorders, disordered eating, or sensory sensitivities, food-centered events can be a challenge, a place of exposure to rigid beliefs about health. This resource contains practical strategies for attending gatherings when eating feels complicated, and some actionable tips for hosts who want to create inclusive spaces, because everyone deserves to feel welcome — exactly as they are.
